SAV Foundation... How we started

Ever since I was a kid, I always felt a responsibility to give back. I wanted to be someone people could count on and someone who could bring hope to others when they needed it most. Those values have guided my life.
I try to live them every day and pass them on to my kids, because I truly believe the greatest joy in life comes from seeing someone else smile, feel included, and feel supported.
The SAV Foundation started in a very natural way. Over the years, we were already doing a lot in the community—helping families, supporting kids, and trying to remove barriers where we could. It was actually the management of the London Knights who encouraged me to make it official. They saw the impact that was already being made and believed it deserved a formal foundation so we could reach even more people. That encouragement helped turn an idea into something real. The foundation is powered by an incredible group of people who share the same heart for giving back.
Our Vice President, Joe Woodbeck, brings endless passion and dedication to serving our community. Joe is the kind of person who always shows up. He leads with generosity, compassion, and a true belief that helping others is one of the most meaningful things we can do.
Our Director, Brad Egan, has a huge heart and a truly kind soul. He cares deeply about people and is always looking for ways we can make a difference together.
In just a short time, the SAV Foundation has been able to make a real impact. We’ve hosted back-to-back hockey equipment drives, helped provide London Knights tickets to families so kids can experience the excitement of the game, created scholarship opportunities, built volunteer programs, and worked to remove barriers for kids who want to be involved in sports and community activities. But more than anything, the foundation is about bringing people together.
When a community comes together with kindness, generosity, and compassion, amazing things can happen.
We are just getting started. There are so many exciting things ahead, and we’re grateful for every person who supports, volunteers, and believes in what we’re trying to do.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
Together, we can continue to lift up kids, families, and our entire community.
