My name is Sav, and when I was a young person struggling to find my way, Kids Help Phone was there for me.
In moments when I felt overwhelmed, lost, and unsure if anyone truly understood what I was going through, they gave me something incredibly powerful: a safe place to turn, a voice on the other end that listened without judgment, and the reassurance that I mattered. That experience stayed with me.
I have been a volunteer since 1999, giving back in honour of my dear friend Dan. Dan was the one who introduced me to volunteering while we were still in high school. He believed deeply in helping others and in showing up for people who were hurting. Tragically, Dan later lost his life to mental health struggles, and his loss continues to shape my purpose and my commitment to this work.
I support Kids Help Phone so that no young person ever feels completely alone in their darkest hours—so they know there is always someone who cares, someone who will listen, and somewhere they can turn when the weight feels too heavy.
If you are able to donate, please know that your support is not just a contribution—it is a lifeline. It is hope. It is love. And it can truly change, or even save, a life.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting youth mental health with compassion and heart.
