Hello, I'm Sav

From a simple idea, the foundation has grown into a source of light and inspiration. It has brought laughter to children, comfort to families, and a sense of connection to our entire community. By uplifting our youth, we nurture a brighter, stronger tomorrow for everyone.

My Story

I grew up in community housing with a single mother raising five children in a country where she didn’t yet speak the language. Life wasn’t easy and opportunities were limited, but what we lacked in resources we made up for in love, strength, and resilience.

My mom sacrificed everything so we could have a better life. Watching her navigate a new country, work tirelessly, and still give us unconditional love shaped the person I am today. She taught me that true wealth isn’t measured by what you have—it’s measured by the love you give, the strength you show in hard times, and the kindness you share with others.

Today I’m incredibly blessed with an amazing wife and two wonderful kids. They are my world. As a family, we try to live by the values that shaped me growing up—kindness, compassion, and giving back. Every day we try to make the world just a little brighter for someone else.

Sports played a huge role in my life. It was the one place where I felt I truly belonged. When life outside felt overwhelming, stepping onto the ice or into a game made everything else fade away. Sports gave me confidence, friendships, and a sense of purpose. That’s why providing opportunities in sports is one of the pillars of the SAV Foundation. Every child deserves to feel that sense of belonging and joy.

Academics was not always easy for me. I was part of ESL programs and faced challenges that made learning difficult at times. Because of that, I understand how barriers—whether language, confidence, or opportunity—can impact a child’s path. Those experiences are why I’m passionate about helping youth believe in themselves and pursue their academic goals. If we can remove even one barrier for a child, it can change the entire direction of their life.

Volunteering has always held a special place in my heart. I truly believe one of the greatest feelings in life is helping someone else. Not for recognition, not for praise—but simply because it makes the world better. Sometimes the biggest impact we make is in the lives of people we may never even meet. That belief is what led to the creation of the SAV Foundation. Built on three pillars—Sports, Academics, and Volunteering—our goal is simple: to create opportunities, remove barriers, and inspire kindness within our community.

Beyond my family and friends, the London Knights community has become a huge part of my life. What started as cheering for a team grew into something much bigger—a community that feels like family. Together we’ve built something special here in the Forest City, where passion, connection, and joy bring people together.

You’ll often find me at a Knights game wearing bright neon pants, a green wig, and waving a flag. It might look a little wild, but it comes from a place of pure joy and love for the community around me. If that energy can make someone smile, laugh, or forget their worries for a moment, then it’s worth every second.

Life can feel heavy and dark at times. We all go through moments of struggle. But if my energy, my actions, or the work we do through the SAV Foundation can lift someone up—even just a little—then it means everything.

My hope is to be a light for others, just like so many people were for me growing up. A reminder that no matter where you come from, love, community, and hope can always lead the way forward.
